Hello Friends, Shoppers and Supporters!
So it’s been awhile since we’ve seen each other or been in touch. Sorry about that! See, Gordon Square Farmers’ Market has been going through some internal changes in order to plant the seeds of dynamic external growth. More community members have got on board to ensure that this market is here for the long run. In this process, a few things have slipped through the cracks. Be sure of one thing, we still love you!
For the fourth year, we look forward to bringing you the most local produce available outside of your backyard. You may be asking yourself, “How can Gordon Square Farmers’ Market do this?” Well, it’s easy. See, GSFM is a market founded by urban farmers and gardeners who take the idea of urban agriculture to heart. We know what it’s like to live on the near west side of Cleveland in the new millennium. Most of our neighborhood is a food dessert and the only “regular” grocery store we have is a discount grocery with less than fresh produce. So we intend to keep growing food and bringing it to the Market on Saturdays, June through October.
In the meantime, Spring has sprung and gardens are waking up. Well, I hope your beds are made, because this Saturday is the Gordon Square Farmers’ Market 2nd Annual Plant Sale. Buy the plants from your favorite farmers or a guest vendor and see if your thumb is as green as theirs. Lots of plants will be on site for you to choose from. The sale begins at 10 a.m. this Saturday May 19 and runs until 2pm.
May 21 join us at Johnny Mango’s in Ohio City as we eat and drink to raise funds for market expenses. Pick up a flier, while at the plant sale, to present to your server. You may also download the flier from our FaceBook page.

Our regular season opens June 16, 2012 and runs through October 27, plus three holiday markets. (That’s one more than last year!) They are November 17 (just before Thanksgiving) and December 15 & 16 just before Christmas. All Markets run 10am – 2pm.

Also new this season, we will have yoga (donation-based/pay what you can) every Saturday 11-noon, weather permitting, in the Labyrinth.

Gordon Square Farmers’ Market Fundraiser @ Johnny Mango’s

We love food. Obviously.
That’s why we’re happy to be pairing up with Johnny Mango in Ohio City to raise some funds for our market. These funds will be put right to work helping spread the word about our great neighborhood market’s upcoming season. Please take the time to check out our new 2011 Calendar, and keep checking back as events are added.
From 11am til 11pm on Monday March 28, bring these fliers and some friends to Johnny Mango World Cafe in Ohio City for some great food and drinks. 20% of your purchases will benefit Gordon Square Farmers’ Market.
